Hiya,

I'm a newbie here and discovered a problem in Morocco when the housing started leaking.

I have a 1999 2.8 Ducato with a 8140.43 engine in a Hymer E650 motorhome

A mechanic arrived and stripped the hoses and housing from the engine and said the leak was from the joint between the housing and the engine.
When they rebuilt everything I realised they had not used a gasket but some sort of joint sealant.
The question is ,should there be a gasket ( I would have thought so )and where to buy one.

I have searched everywhere.

The housing has done e few thousand Km's since and is fine at the moment.

I would be really grateful for any advice...regards

+1 for black rtv its holding half the agricultural vehicles in the world and classic cars together, once the old gasket is properly removed and mating faces prepared its a good job.

Hi,

Incidentally halfords were clearing the lovery 200ml si 5980 dispensers last time I was in. Makes it much easier to apply a neat continuous bead.
