Hi

I'm travelling for more than a year now in Western Africa and came upon this problem we couldn't fix yet. Fiat Ducato 2001 2.0

The electronic security, that does not allow you to start the car is doing a verry good job, is there a way to disable the electronic security?
Finding a fiat dealer around is impossible...

Allready changed batteries in key.

Anybody ideas?
Thanks

I'm stuck here in sikasso Mali... and looking for a way to start the car with or without key so i can get to the capital Bamako and find a proper solution for it...

Petrol or diesel? Was just listening to "La dimanche a Bamako c'est la jour de marriage" yesterday.

Hehe. Amadou et maryam...
It is a diesel

Thanks for responding

Hi,some early pumps have the Immobliser built in to the top of the pump.
It is possible to remove it,by cutting it off and wiring a switched live to the stop solenoid.
Not sure if your van has this on though.
You will need to get it to a garage to do it.
The van will then have no anti theft to protect it.

They got out the Bosh D2041 p10. Is this the immobiliser?

And do you mean the reservoir pump or the dieselpump?
Thanks

Yours is common rail the only way to disable the immobiliser is in the ecu. The bosch part you mentioned is the ecu so it sounds like they know someone who can do it. They will have to read, edit and rewrite the 29f400 part in the ecu.

Martijn, are you sure it is the immobilizer that spoils your day?
A more logical candidate is the inertia switch that can trip when driving over rough terrain. I guess they don't have smooth tarmac where you are now. I know where to find it in an X250 vehicle (behind the glove box), but have no idea where it is hidden in your van.

So they know what they're doing...
That is a relief
And it is the only way possible to start the car.
So the answer is no!
Thank you everybody!

This evening there is somebody arriving from Bamako with a computer to resolve the issue.

Seems to me post is closed, but this is africa... so i'll wait until it actually is fixed. Another thanks to everybody
.. greetz from Mali

Cdk it is another possibility...
Can you explain something more about what the inertia is and how it looks like and what the purpose is of it

The purpose is to cut power to the fuel pump in case of a crash.
It is a small vertically mounted device with a 3-pole plug at the bottom.
