I have fitted front sensors to the front of my 2014 (X250) motorhome. I tried to be clever by installing these without a switch, they come on and stay on with the ignition on. My thoughts were they would not be triggered whilst driving, unless something was really close.

All was fine in dry weather, however I was in the rain & snow last week and they were beeping constantly, so I disconnected them.

I would like them ONLY to operate whilst in first and reverse, is there anyway i can pick up a feed that is only live in first & reverse? something in the ECU?

I rather not put a switch on the dash if I can help it. if I must I would want a standard FIAT/Citroen/Peugeot switch, to keep the dash looking smart.
Thanks in advance

you could have them to come on in reverse as you could pick up a feed from the switch or rear lights but not fro first
don't know why you need front parking sensors ???

Shotgun, I have them back & front on my car and find that useful for parking in tight spaces.
I have a camera on the back of the Motorhome and use the sensors on the front when manoeuvring into my parking space at home, the front comes close to some brickwork and the sensors tell me how close I am to the wall. It is the same when reversing out which is why I was wanting them to operate in first and reverse.
There will be a way of doing it, I was hoping some technophobe on this forum could advise me. I have not been able to get the answer off the Swift Forum.
