Just in the middle of stripping the nearside window switch on my '05 2.8 because it got a little water inside and blew both door windows.
The way the switch has failed is almost bound to power up and down circuits at the same time. Guessed when you first posted that might have let out the magic smoke. Can't believe I've got the same problem.
Having a bit of a warm, no time for pics, sorry. Maybe later if I can find the time.
Top, the bit you touch, is grey & curved on these. plastic hinge pin either side, just ease them clear - no springs to fly out.
Below that is the blue, middle section. Below that is the white block with the connecting pins. After you've unplugged it from the harness.
Problem on mine is in the blue section. Of the 2 upright spring-loaded pins (diagonally opposite corners) one is sticking. Guessing that's all it would take to blow one or both 7.5A fuses - up and down switched on at the same time.
To separate the blue section from the white it looks like I need to desolder 2 massive solder blobs from the little (10 x 25mm) green circuit board - being careful of the 2 smt components - before the barb-locks can be prised apart.
Obviously easier & cheaper to buy a new switch but I'd rather fix it tonight if I can. Tomorrow if Deadwood's on at 9.
And yes I am a tight old git.
BTW removing the n/s switch & replacing the fuse allows the o/s switch to work both windows as usual, confirming the diagnosis.
edit: confirming my own van's diagnosis that is of course - not yours!
