Hi, My 2014 Ducato camper van did not come with a spare wheel or carrier, so I bought a new wind down wheel carrier on ebay ( a bargain at £40!) . My van has room for a spare wheel at the rear and all the bolt holes to take the carrier.

Unfortunately, it did not come with the tool (five sided driver) for winding down the carrier. The winch mechanism sits near the wheel arch and has a socket that needs a pentagon shaped bit.

I have been into a couple of Fiat parts centres and they have been absolutely useless - or have not wanted to know!

I would be really grateful if someone could tell me where I can get this little tool, or give me a Fiat part number.

it should be in with your jack box under passenger seat.

Is it anything in that picture? Otherwise, I can't find it on ePer. :(

Thanks for the advice wilkes & Eklipze3k. I did check the jack box under the passenger seat and no such "pentagon" bit was present. I guess thats because my van came with the dreaded "fix & go" kit :p

Part No 4 (wrench) on eper could be what I need. eper lists several different code numbers for this wrench under various revisions - how do I know which one to order at the Fiat parts counter?

The new type carrier (wound down through wheel arch) were supplied with the wind down tool as the old carrier (wound down through back door) was a different hex type

So it should have come with the tool.

Interesting that Number 9 (plastic wing nut) is shown after my old 07 X250 had the modified carrier fitted, a few winter months later had a puncture and we couldn't remove that nut, seized on solid, fiat garage and fiat uk confirmed the wing but is not available and I would have to buy a new complete carrier/winder system!

Tip, copper grease ya nut!

The tool you require isn't shown on the picture above. It's part of the tool kit, if the tools are avail on eper separate then make sure you get the right one, latest style (date) on wheel arch/side winder
Early winder through rear bumper
