Morning folks

Can anyone with access to an up to date Fiat Parts catalogue
Do a random search on the wing mirrors please.

Reason, I purchased an aftermarket o/s electric, heated, ext temp sensor mirror for my 2012 ducato 3.0 euro 5.
His listing 2006 on (all models, years...)

Fitted no problem, plugged in no problem, ignition on (not running) check movement and indicator flashes all ok,

Then,
Went to work late night and as soon as I indicated right I get bulb errors, double time clicking, message on dash saying to check right hand turn light.
All indicator bulbs working and flashing at normal rate!

I message supplier who, didn't know of any issues, asked for reg number, still couldn't help and asked me to contact dealer to check part numbers.

I then check the bulb.
Aftermarket mirror had 501 amber 5 Watt bulb

My damaged remains of original unit had a larger 16watt clear cap less bulb (amber insert in lens)

So, there's the reason for canbus errors, wattage of bulb.

He didn't understand all this bulb error and stands his ground that his mirror is correct, and offers refund.
I check with fiat briefly, and find out early mirrors have superseded to later ones,

What I would like to know is when fiat started fitting/supplying units with this type 955 or W16W larger bulb?

Due to fact I now need the lens with amber insert, I have asked for a contribution,
His advert is incorrect (06 on) should be 06. To say 2011

He now refuses to refund as I had fitted the mirror and that I should have known or asked before purchase if correct for my van!
Even though he couldn't tell from reg number!
And how am I to know there are different bulbs now fitted etc etc,

I am wanting to prove a point, if anyone can answer by looking on parts catalogue and seeing if the two bulbs in mirror have a too and from date?

Cheers

2011 on dont know where the overlap is, you can get a 10w bulb in the 501 size called a 503h might be enough watts to keep the can happy. If not I'd fit a series resistor rather than gor through the hassle of removing it , packing it sending it back and sourcing another.

Luckily for me the old bulb was pretty much all that was left after it was smashed to bits, so I transferred it over, that's how I found out what was causing the canbus thrombie. First thing I thought to check was bulb.

Crazy thing is, the seller is adamant it's my fault that his supplied mirror doesn't work! Hmmm

Think he needs to change advert from 2006 on. To 2006 to 2011 vehicles,
Cheers
For that mate, if anyone can let me know a date please, I know on old Peugeot epc, it would show a date of change through the build code system they used.

Fiat has 2011 on in a section of its own so theres no activation data. You can sign up to view the citroen and peugeot data for free:
