Well another day, another failure.

There is no way to get the pliers onto the "inboard" bit - as there is a massive lip above which is in the way.

So the only bit I can grip is the bulbous bit - even that's not good though, as there's only enough space for about 1/8 of a rotation :( F***!

Maybe something like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/3804...ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108

But there really isn't much space there behind it - so I don't know if that will work either.

So the other issue I have now is - because that clamp is gone, is it safe to drive around?

They may be easier to get off if you run the engine to heat the rubber, then try with the pliers. Be aware that you could be sprayed with hot water if they do come off this way.

Because of the above, if you want to drive it, put one of the new hose clips on to replace the clip you've already removed.

If I lived closer I'd lend you this to crack/break the pipe seal/bead :(

looks like a self bleeding system to me, T14086 ?

don't leave it to long before you get permanent fix, running with no coolant for long time isn't good
What do you mean? I'm not going to fix it - that's it, we'll just leave it as bypassed :)

Or you mean the replacement coolant? That will be next week (y)
