Hi guys
Has anyone found LEDs that actually do work around the canbus error?
Would like to change side and interior lighting just don't want to waste money on ones that don't work!
Thanks

Hit & miss, off eBay I've my 6 amber side board lights LEDs all ok, front sidelights in blue (occasional flashing when off) all no errors

Now tried festoons above number plate lamp, no joy, tried 3 different suppliers inc halfords who lost a set, gave up since and stuck with what I have

I have only changed my interior lighting to LED, because when the road lights are on the engine is charging. Made sense to me anyway.

(Admin - why can't I add smilies??)

You need a can adapter. Around £60 - 120.

You have effectively a computer that is expecting the draw of that bulb to be say 10w, you put a LED in there at say 2w and it thinks it has an 8w overload so shuts it all down - or the ECU gets confused and either it or the vehicle burn out. Either or.

Canbus is just a digital signal, the ECU is more accurate, more fussy and easily blown - but this manages the amount of electrical components we have on modern vehicles very well - the downside is, you need to tell the ECU everything that is changing by reflashing it, or use an adapter to fool it.
