Hi is it easy/hard to test if fuel solenoid is receiving power from ecu/immobiliser ,I guess 12v to an earth tag on frame to see if its asked to open while van is turning over and not starting cheers mark 2.8jtd 2001

No, its a regulator not an on off soldenoid, its pulse width modulated, you need a scope. From a cold start the duty cycle should be about 40%. About all you can personally is remove the regulator and check for contamination such as filing on the tip. Theres no point in fecking around until you've pulled those return lines from the injectors when its warm to check for leakback. Whats the reported temperature on diagnostics when its hot?

Hi thanks for that ,how much diesel should come out of return pipes or injector return connections when turning over (collection pot or tissue)for 7 seconds and does it matter if it fires up on turn over.or can I do one injector at a time.
Also are we talking separate engine temp sensor feeding ecu because did not see read out on either scanner thanks mark

Hi the leak off bottle test does show one injector with a third more leak off.
The engine temperature during problem starting is between 50-70
The air temperature is 50-60 when air outside is less than 20 cheers mark
