Hi all, can anybody tell me the colour of the headlight wire as I need to tap into it so that the day running lights will dim when headlights are switched on. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi mate, any luck on this? I got the kit at home ready for when I get the van back to fit, didn't I see it say what wire to use, or are the wires different on the 2012> vans?
Any other issues in fitting?

Followed the instructions to the letter and thought everything was fine but lights did not dim when you put your main lights on. In fact everybody was flashing me at night. the white wire needs to go to the headlight feed which is the green one with a black stripe. I found the wire but it made no difference and would not dim. Ledcom said the white wire is only a signal wire which goes back to the control box. I took the white wire from where I had originally put it and taped into the green/black wire that goes into the main light connector. By the way the connector that goes into the light unit has also changed from the 2007 model. All is now working a treat. Have you got your van back yet ????

If you have got the ledcom DRL dont forget to put the mirror fuse into the adaptor like I did. When you connect everything up do not connect the white wire. turn on ignition and the lights will come on but also look at your dash readout and it should say DRL fitted. It will only ever display this once. Go back to the fuse box and get the white wire to touch anything positive you will see the DRL dim. If it does then connect the white wire to the green/black wire. Hope this makes sense.

No still waiting on parts! Hopefully tomorrow,
I had the feeling that there may be wholesale differences in the wiring etc, will make sense when I'm knee deep in fiat wiring looms trying to fit mine lol cheers

Every day I am finding different things that have changed. Do Euro 5 have a DPF. Also I see that they have moved the exhaust pipe to the back of the van, before the fumes used to come in through the window if you were parked up. I havent worked out yet how to get the spare wheel down from its cradle lol and Im off to Holland next week.

Yes they have apparently, euro 5 inc dpf, cat, and anything else to get it thru Euro5 std, means the exhaust is larger hence further back,
Spare wheel is same as modified one they changed under recall on old models, use the tools in box to wind down carrier located near o/s/r wheel, worth doing a test on it before your trip, as I found, the wing nut holding wheel to carrier seized up (not avail as separate part) managed to free it eventually and copper greased it for future :)

Not yet mate,
Just waiting on a couple of bits to come then a dry weekend to sort the water ingress issue (scuttle grill sealing & drainage) then may have a look at the lights, they're not my priority until I can stop/reduce the water leaks!

Have you sorted your DRLs out with the headlamp on off thing?

Yes finally sorted it. I fed it to the wrong wire. The wire that goes to the headlight, (Green/black stripe) I tapped into the main wire coming from the headlight. It is only a signal wire, when you switch on your headlights it sends a signal to the control box which then dim the DRLs. Another thing that I have noticed on the Euro 5 is that they have changed the socket where you plug in all the wires into the main headlamp unit. Also the light stalk switch you only turn once and both the side and headlights come on. Whats the point of the sidelights then?

Cheers

Cool, saves me some messing around when I finally get around to fitting them :)
Am I being daft, but how did the van know you had drl's fitted (message on display) when they were wired in just from tapping into fuse box power with the fuse bridge thingy?

I dont know how the display told me that DRLs fitted. When you wire up and turn on your ignition look at the display, it will only tell you the once. The wire going to your main headlight (Green with black stripe) is definately the signal wire. I rang ledcom and he explained all about it. If you go to Fiat main webite where you can build the van to your own spec you can now get DRLs fitted at extra cost so it must be programmed into the ECU etc.

I have a 2013 Ducato 150 (motorhome) and it has daylight running lights on it as standard. Just to be clear my Ducato version has the multi function display. I realise that there may be different specs so perhaps not all will have them. I only found them when I was going through the menu one day to see what was what. There didn't seem to be any mention of this in the Handbook. It also has auto close on this menu, again something I didn't expect.

Hope this helps others who are considering getting daylight running lights on a new Ducato, it might be worth checking to see if they are already there just not activated on the menu.
