Hi guys, just want to say hello to all. Just got myself an Ducato 1.9D, 5 speed manual Auto trail motorhome, 2001, 36k miles, 4 new alloys and Michelins, new timing belt/water pump, etc. So looking forward to the sunny spring and summer in '14 :D!!! Served my time on buses & HGV's - left the tools 35 years ago and started teaching engineering in college - now retired. One thing I don't have for the Fiat is the owners manual and would like to know recommended engine oil and other info therein - any help on that one appreciated, am looking forward to browsing the forum. :)

hi there remo337, re oil, i use comma eurodiesel 15w40 semi synthetic in my 1996 1.9td. seems to be ok. as for owner or workshop manuals they seem to be non existant for my x230 model and year.( if anyone reads this who knows different please reply.)so it's best of luck on that one. however, lots of information can be sourced using the various forums so all is not lost.

Thanks guys for the welcome and info therein - found the owners manual site but afraid I don't know the model designation of the 1.9TD engine chassis/cab, but saw a lot of good info when picked one model - and thanks for the info on the Comma synth oil @ 15/40. Lots of good reading on the forum - well pleased, thanks from an old happy chappie, Remo :) :) :)

hi again, it sounds like it's the same as mine. the x230. when it comes to workshop manuals, they appear to be none existant. as for owners manuals, a guy was selling one on e-bay for £33. if you want to spend that much money to find out what the switches, dials and nobs do,allthe best. i prefer this forum. takes longer but it's free and friendly. there are other forums but i won't be disloyal to this one by naming them. happy hunting.
