Hi I am trying to fit rear view camera to above. Does anyone know if there is an existing entry point to allow me to pass video cable through cab/engine bulkhead, so I can lead it under van to camera location? Thanks in advance.

Hi
When fitting the camera to our 244 model I fitted it to the original base of the interior mirror as the mirror itself was useless. I came up from under the vehicle from the rear, up the firewall on the drivers side (RHD) through an unused grommet in the firewall behind the battery then up the inside of the door pillar & across under the headlining to the Screen.
No doubt the X250 is different to the 244 model (the battery is under the seat on X250s) but there must be a spare grommet on the firewall somewhere. I also used the same electrical connection as you did as the camera now replaces the mirror whilst driving.
Cheers

I was looking for a grommet in the firewall myself for after market fog lamps and was told to reduce noise in the cabin there are no holes except for one.It can be found behind the driverside headlamp(lamp must come out).I was told I could squeeze another cable thru here but when I checked it was pretty packed.2 fog lamps for sale.
I ran my camera cable inside under the roof.

Thanks for the input FreeSpirit and dfk. Like you dfk, I cannot find any route through the firewall, except by drilling. So, I am thinking laterally. Have removed the trim in the Drivers entry step. The good news is, there is a hole at the rear of the step, which appears it may go "outside" under the van, have not found the exit point yet. If I do, I will post back.

Remove the lower section of the drivers seat belt housing. You can then access the outside, that is how my side and hi level marker lamps get outside to run along the chassis. Lift the trim of the side floor strip by the drivers door, couple of screws and you have a path from the dash to the seat belt housing..

I have ducato of 2012 before you disassemble wait for something to drill proof, as I have at home. from what I know is in the wiring harness h all the same, I already installed a socket on the back of the car to 12V, I had to mount the relay and now mounted cruise control, I do not know if you want Assembling orginal webcam or replacement, the beam is origi that goes upside car with side doors goes down and becomes a side tunnel where it is carrying out the lower door to the passenger side pillar and from there the stage goes on the front of the cabin, as with all the English you will be the driver and not the passenger

Hi
I fitted a rear view camera and reversing camera using the same monitor.
to our camper van
By fitted the monitor over a rear view mirror.I tucked the cables up through the overhead open locker run the cables down the passengers side belt cover/door frame to the floor level run the RCA cables inside the van to the rear of the van. Then up the side of the door frame through the black plastic door stay (can be opened and enough room for the cables )took of the passengers side inside door trim fitted the camera to the bottom of the plastic trim above the Nº plate
The only hole I had to drill was in the corner of the plastic trim to fit the camera on for the rear view camera
The second camera is run down side of the door frame tucked in along the door seal and down through an existing rubber grommet and comes out below the rear bumper for a low level reversing camera wired to come on when reverse gear is selected.

Thank you MikeT, tygrys, RayC. There is a path at the rear of the drivers step, if you look under the van, there are plastic blanking plates, which can be removed, drilled to allow cable to pass through and replaced. I also stumbled upon the entry point you mention RayC, that is yet another possibility. In the end, I used the entry point at the rear of the drivers step, since it was slightly larger, and allowed the video cable (with connectors) to pass through more easily. So, to recap:

I took power supply from rear of cigarette lighter, passed wire up drivers side windscreen pillar, into head lining and out to monitor attached to rear view mirror. Video cable and camera power, I led from rear of van, under the floor, entering van at rear of drivers step, then behind trim to join up with video and power from monitor where it emerged from window pillar.

The camera id intended to allow me to "keep an eye" on motorcycle trailer, so, I wanted it "always on" rather than "on in reverse only" hence, taking power from behind cigarette lighter.

Hope that helps somebody out there.

Picking up 12volt power

Adding a fuse via the fuse box
Have you seen these little connectors you can buy them of Ebay
very simple to use you just remove a fuse from the fuse box depending what you want 12 volt power on all the time or Ing controlled
Remove the chosen fuse fit new fuse unit fit the removed fuse into the bottom fuse holder
Don't fit a fuse to the top holder until you have finished wiring on the circuit you adding .
these can be bought in mini and normal fuse sizes.
