Just wondered if anyone one else has had a problem with changing the fuel filter on this model as there seems to be problems with it leaking after being changed. I know you need a special tool to change the filter and re tighten the housing after is it just because people are not using tool to retighten the filter housing to specified torque which I believe is 3.2 nm. Fiat ducato x 250 multijet.

The same filter unit has been used in many vehicles from many manufacturers, dating back to 2001, so I don't think there is a generic problem.

The correct torque figure is 30Nm, as embossed on the filter housing, and the operation is certainly made more precise using the special tool.

I seem to recall that some of the problems that people have had came from using pattern parts. The Fiat/Peugeot/Citroen filter element is made by UFI and can be bought under their own name for c. £15 so there really isn't an excuse not for using it.
