hi first time posting and i know its not good form to open with a question but i'm stuck !
got my 07 ducato in june slowly converting to a campervan for work the on tuesday on the way to a job in liverpool the battery light came on so i stopped at birch services to have a quick look for loose wire etc,van then wouldn't start again i had been queing for about an hour.
after much research here and other places i think i've found the fault is the plug that provides the 12v exite charge is faulty give it a wiggle 14.5v wiggle it again 12v with battery light, so my question is this can i run a 12v feed to the alternator to replace the faulty feed ?
btw love the van big improvement over my 98 vito

so is it a poor connection effecting the charge coming out ( to battery) or a dodgy wire stopping the 12+ volts going in through the plug?,

I would use a new lead with a "croc-clip" to go direct from the battery terminal,
nice + easy to connect / undo if needs be,
