got a lot of white smoke coming from oil filler cap , told its because of blow by ,if the blow by is because of worn or damaged rings would,nt i also be burning oil and getting smoke from exhaust.

Blow by is happening because your cylinder bores/piston rings are worn, but not yet worn enough to let oil up into the cylinders to be burnt in any quantity. Unless you want to have your engine swapped or rebuilt, run it until it does start burning engine oil and get as much life out of it as you can. The MOT emissions test will show up oil burning. Once it gets too high, that's it.

im also getting diesel in the sump , say about half a litre within 25 mile trip , if i put in fresh oil and keep it low she performs better but it still lacks a bit of power and fluffsa bit specially on tickover

Shouldn't be driving it anywhere like that the diesel will be washing the cylinder and if your rings and bore aren't already fecked they will be pronto.

after taking the van back to dealer again and asking him to do a compression test , he then tells me no1 is down on compression , no longer trusting him we decided to test it ourselves to find no1 is cranking at 410 psi , no3 at 405 psi, no4 at 398 psi, BUT NO 2 AT 195PSI , so i assume im getting the diesel in my sump because its not combusting in 2 , were now gonna take head off weekend and see whats going on in there.

What a lying ****** be sure to warn everyone you know off the place.

Don't forget this is also a sign of bore wash get the injectors tested!

hi, he did previously send injectors away for a pressure test and replaced injector no 3 as it was supposed to be malfunctioning which he charged me a further 200 quid for but as i said its no2 down on compression ,unless he got them mixed up and put the new injector in the wrong bore , i did suffer runaway twice which i stopped pretty quick , maybe no 3 was overfuelling but no2 copped some damage there somewhere ,valves, rings etc.

Sounds like Ring damage, get a replacement engine :(
Only thing you can do for now, is drop the oil and change to a higher grade to reduce the consumption.
