If you mean 'idtd' rather than 'ijtd', then the idTD has an old-school mechanical diesel pump and direct injection. Feed it clean diesel, keep it cool and it will run forever.
The later JTD has common-rail injection and all the electronics: sensors, ecu etc.
I think, but don't know, that they are basically the same 2800cc engine otherwise.
