took ducato 2.0jtd back to dealer from where i bought it again , got him to do a compression test as noticed quite a lot of white smoke coming from oil filler cap, he now says compression is down on number 1 cylinder but he doesnt think its rings or bore , there is no sludge in oil or water or on filler cap, has no starting problems,and it does not smoke from exhaust at all, i had to put fresh oil in before i took it back as there was rather a lot of diesel in the oil again and i did not want to risk runaway, the oil i used this time was slightly thicker and i kept the level on the lower side, the van almost got all its performance back and the misfire/fluffing especially at tick over had got a lot better , injectors have been tested and one replaced , so am told theyre now fine , and now the dealer is getting arsey as i dont think he wants to fix it ,any help would be greatly appreciated .

Hi had a similar problem with my jtd , could be rings or cracked piston , what's your mileage btw , Your dealer is liable !! Unfit for purpose , keep complaining .

hi the milege is 103,000 not a lot really, did you get away with repairing the one cylinder or did you do a rebuild on all four, cheers

Rebuilt all four , only had 60 on clock , cost me a £££££ .
