Ducato passenger van.

The engine fires up at first try - numerous times and runs great for whole day. Absolutely no troubles and no warning lights whatsoever...
But every time in the middle of the trip on a specific spot - city center when i give contact red injector light flashes, along with orange CODE light!
When i try to turn on the engine it just cranks to no end.
:eek::bang:

Pumping the throttle doesn't help. Starting the engine behind specific building is again great.

Today it was bad. I almost had mecanics number dialed. Than it fired.
I am no expert but CODE light showing out of the blue makes me think there's some signal that interferes with the key chip. Is that possible?
As said before - it's town center so probably many WiFi and other networks going on.
Anyway i bet it's immobilizer issue.

My wife had a Nissan Micra which refused to start when parked outside near a mobile telephone mast. Push it a few feet no probs.
Particularly bad when it had been raining.
Makes you wonder what's frying your brain!

Quite common for things like automatic barriers to interfere theres been a few articles about it. Then theres radar: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/02/28/car_molesting_radar/

A very common occurrance now though is people mostly from certain places east of blighty operating jammers to prevent you locking the car with the plip. They often jam phon signals too to prevent members of the public reporting/gsm alarms calling home. Irish cops picked up a couple of fella with a jammer that had a 1km radius.

If it happens in the same place every time, I would guess that there is a signal interfering with your ECU. Radio transmissions are controlled, and should be properly screened. There is a government agency who police this, but I can't find the name right now, but a google search should find it sometime.

First, though, knock on the door of the building and tell them your problem. Give them an opportunity to respond, and possibly fix. If that does not work, contact the authorities and see how they respond. It probably won't be quick. You could park your van there with a notice, asking if anyone else suffers the same problem. Or write to your local newspaper. Good luck.

A couple of examples:
A few years ago I fitted a pair of loud electromagnetic horns to my Seicento. Not much space, but did manage to hang them under the wheelarch, above the liner. Sadly, the other side of the inner wheelarch is where the ECU sits. Each time I sounded the lovely loud horns, the engine management light illuminated and stayed on until the next restart. Engine running was not apparently affected, but not wishing to take the risk, I reverted to the original squeak.

Also a few years ago, it became impossible to lock with the remote, any Vauxhall on my local Tesco petrol forecourt, just after they'd had all new pumps installed. Despite several complaints, nothing changed, until ten driving instructors, all with Corsa and Astras all parked at their pumps and refused to go in and pay because we could not secure our cars. Cashiers had to bring the card readers out to us all. Surprisingly the problem went away about a week later.

this may NOT be how the law works in Slovenia,
but good valid points about it's causes,
thanks,
Charlie

yes it's confirmed.
Companys mechanic confirmed my idea and said it cannot be fixed - cheaply that is. The "cure" is just not to turn off the engine.
Could be the post office near by with some huge antennas...

There is an agency that controls radio frequencies and stuff and I think i will report. But than again who would bother for a van?

Next time you break down, try to be in the middle of the road, someone will take notice.
