I note that the oil stick barely recognises the oil level and the electronic dash display shows only 3 of the 5 oil fill levels?

I ended to add 8 litres of oil and got the dip stick wetted approx half way and display shows only 2/5 dots. What would experts recommend? Would you stick to this oil quantity or would you go for the 5/5 display dots?
