Hi

My vans been ok for a couple of weeks since getting it back from garage.

This morning it wouldn't start......again!!

The padlock symbol stays on so the van just turns over without firing. I've tried both keys but no luck. Someone mentioned water damage to wiring. Funny eneough it rained last night. Does anyone have any ideas? Is this a common fault on the newer Ducatos? Does the wiring really get that wet?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just about to call Auto Spark as I'mlosing jobs because of this van.

Thanks

If anyone had same problems, try adjusting steering wheel. I moved mine higher up and the padlock light went off. Van now starts. Must be loose / bad connection.

They are designed for left hand drive countries so the scuttle drain is on the wrong side of the van for RHD vans, also the scuttle panels can come away from the screen leading to water ingress, the ECU etc on the nearside is prone to getting drenched, a lot of people drill two holes on the left side and fit pipes to allow the water to safely drain away, another issue is if you park facing down hill to any degree, the air vent in the bonnet can fill up with water, so if you lift it try to do it when parked on level ground as this too will drown the ECU etc.

I'm currently having issues myself, this is as far as I have got trying to stop it happening again, the previous owner has been into the wiring and it's a right butchers job.
