Reading the Ducato handbook I need Selina 5w 40 wr ACEA B4 engine oil
all I can find here in Spain is
Elf Excellium NF 5w 40 ACEA B4 at €45 for 5 ltr

Or Elf turbo Diesel 10W40 ACEA B4 for engines without particulate filters ? AT €35 for 5 ltr

Questions are
1 Does my Ducato have a particulate filter?

2 what do you guys recommend

I average 4000 miles a years usually in one big trip during the winter going from southern Spain through France /Germany /UK and back here.I will be changing the oil and filter every year regardless of mileage.
Don't really want to go to local Fiat dealer as they are less than helpful.

Blimey over 50 views and not one reply.is changing the oil that much of a problem re DPF.?

I've just made it 51 :)

Seriously, I'm sure if any of the viewers (including me) had the info they would pass it on. That, after all, is what this forum is all about. Sorry I can't help but maybe now we've bumped it someone else might chime in.

Maybe all the viewers frequent the motorhome forums and have seen that you already have your answers. Not really much point in giving the same answer on multiple forums..

You don't have a DPF and you should use the grade of oil specified in the handbook, not something that is +/- 5.

Oh and if you're changing it at 4000 miles can I have your old oil please? :):)

If you read the motorhome forum you will see that no one has given me a definitive answer re the DPF so I thank you for your reply on that.
You are more than welcome to my old oil but you will have to collect a poss 1500 mile round trip (y)

Why don't you hike your ass under the van and see if it has a dpf
Or if you simply park it up in a dodgy part of town someone with a surname name ending in 'cu' will surely relieve your van of both dpf and cat and you'll find out which it has when you need to replace them :p

Of you could post your vin someone might be able to tell you since the motorhome builder could have ordered anything.
