Hi,
I recently fitted an air horn to our 2010 Ducato motorhome. Picked up a feed directly from the battery (2.5mm I think), via a 20 amp fuse in the battery compartment ran it through to the nearside wing area, fitted a diode protected relay and connected the wires from the horn to the relay to trigger it.

The worst bit was FINDING the horn (offside wing) and then getting the trigger wires, as to get to the horn you need hands not more than 3" wide with 10 fingers on each hand, and double jointed. OPr take the winf off!!!.

Get in touch if you need any more info.

Bill

p.s. No-one tries to get out in front of us at motorway slip roads!!!!!

Thanks Bill For taking the time to reply back to me .
and the information your supplied .

I was thinking of picking up power from under the bonnet fuse box,
from the live feed to fuse 24 (not used on my van) to supply power to both the new horn fused to 15Amp and DRL fused down to 3Amps, not got around to doing these yet due to the weather.
Regards Mike

You can get to the horn by taking off the offside headlamp. Even then you can't see the horn, only feel it, and the single nut holding it on.
The trim above and below the headlamp is held on by screws you can easily see with the bonnet open, and push/pull clips which you can't get to. Once you have removed the screws you just have to be brave - pull the trim away and hope it doesn't crack. Once the trim is out you can get to the 3 screws that hold in the headlamp.
I had to replace mine because rainwater leaked in through the top of the windscreen, got into the steering column shorting out the horn button, and set the horn going until it burned itself out!

Thanks for your reply Peter.

I have noted what you said and I was just wondering if I can get at the horn wires ? as it seams a lot of work to get at the standard horn its self I was thinking of cutting through the wire's and adding spade connectors re routing the trigger wires to work the relay for the new horn ?
Regards
Mike
