forgot to say as well, you were right this resistor was rusty also, typical ducato then, was also burn black so was definately knackered :D
 
The ignition barrel pops out and you can change the rest, its expensive from fiat and common problem so decided to fix rather than replace, You can get them on ebay with lock barrell and two dumb keys for about £50, they look identical anyway so I'd guess you can put your key antenna on and lock barrell in.

German and polish casting look like original, uk ones have tiny differences in fininh and magnetti marelli logos missing.

You could at a push drill a hole in the key and glue in your own transponder.

Yeah ive had the barrel out already to have a look. Will have another proper look when i get a bit more time, and see if i can fix it first. If not like you say just get another and use my barrel and key.
 
Well i had a chat to my local garage about the gearbox, and its sounds like my gear selector sync has gone and the gearbox maybe causing the grinding noise i have.
They said its too big to go on their ramp :( and they'd have to give it out and i'd be looking at about £600 to have it off,fixed and refitted.

They suggested at that price i just leave it to develop a bit more, if it isnt causing too much of a problem yet. Which it doesnt too much, only really grinds in 4th when changing quick and 5th is a minor grind sometimes.

It is a weird van though, been driving the same way, but for the last few tanks the needle has been starting to drop after 10/20 miles using bp and shell giving me 100 miles from the first quarter and 120 miles from the 2nd quarter? So went back to supermarket fuel and it went back to normal 40 odd miles before the needle dropped giving me about 130 out of the first quarter.

Also if i put the wipers on first thing they look like they are in slow motion until the motor has warmed up a little.
 
Just been out and i went to use my wipers to clean the windscreen. and the water came but the wipers move really slow and then stopped at halfway and are stuck there now and wont move.

So i got out to have a look under the bonnet, and i noticed a wet patch on the floor. Turns out i have a fuel filter leak from the bottom i think too :( I have another one to swap it with luckily. Is this a common fault?

i tried tightening the filter and the bottom plastic cap and it seemed to stop then 10 mins later its started again, its not just a drip either, it is coming out quite a bit :( seemed ok yesterday cant say i noticed anything, i should of noticed last night or today really with me only getting about 70 miles out of a quarter of a tank.

Anyway i'll change the fuel filter again, but anyone have any idea whats up with the wipers?
 
Well fingers crossed ive fixed the fuel filter by fitting a new one (lucky i had one with it being bank holiday weekend) :)

Just the wipers now. The little motor (tube looking thing) is getting quite hot and i can hear it clicking like it wants to work, so im guessing the motor is knackered. Thing is how do you get the damn thing off to change it?
 
pup the plastic plug out of the middle of the wiper arm, remove the nut, remove wiper arms, remove large nuts underneath, then remove 2 I think nuts holding the motor to the bracket, then remove the whole unit.
 
Thanks Moodrater :) Will try and get that done as soon as i can find one, luckily it isnt raining yet :D

Im pretty sure its the motor as yesterday it was burning hot and i could hardly touch it, So ive just unplugged it until i can trace one.

probably the resitor pack on the fan motor,

maybe lube the clutch linkages, and also try that for the lock barrell,

chaep and easy stuff 1st..!!,

Thanks Charlie. Whilst i had the fuel filter leak and the air filter housing out, i thought id just spray some grease on the gear selector bit, and hey presto my grind has gone :)

Well i got it done today and i have wipers again.. yaay :)

Was a right bugger to get off though, went back on far much easier.
 
Can any one help me my ducato 2.0 jet has a habit of cutting out ,it will rev to the limit when not on gear but when you boot it at around 40 to 50 ish it cuts out ,I have changed the filter and fired some quality injector cleaner through it , seems to be better but still cuts out .
