I have a Ducato (2007) with a 2.2 100 Multijet engine. Am I right in believing that it has a timing chain (rather than a belt)? And if so, does it need replacing/adjusting at any point in its life?

Thanks for any advice.

the 2.2 in a 57 reg is basically a ford transit chain cam engine.

in theory a chain cam engine should not need a new chain but if it gets noisy u need to get it checked out. could be a problem with lubrication which causes the chain to cut into the adjuster/tensioner.

if the oil is changed regularly it should be good for 100K or more
