Wanted to top up engine battery, done the first three but cannot get to others as that plate is above with all the connctors etc on it. Was told that best way is to remove battery , thats when the fun started, how the heck do you get it out? it just keeps getting jammed and quite honestly I have not got the strengh to lift it at the angle required what with back problems. Is there a knack in removing it?. Would appreciate advice, thanks.

Yes, unfortunately it's a poor design. The battery is extremely heavy so manoeuvring is inherently difficult.
