Hi Everyone!

Need some help please. I own a Ducato 2.8 jtd Motorhome 2003 model and when I turn the stalk round to turn lights on.......nothing!? I have turned the ignition on and still nothing?? I suspect the actual stalk as I've checked all the fuses and the mainbeam light comes on when I pull the stalk up toward the steering wheel, and the indicators and hazards work, but no headlights/sidelights?

Has anybody had a similar problem or perhaps can give me some much needed advise?

:bang: Thanks!!

no experience .. BUT / does yours have the "parking light" position on the ignition key / lock ??,

if they light from there then suspect the stalk,

there are other options.., try tilting the steering / column,
Charlie
"Parking Light" on the ignition key/lock does work.
The indicators work and so does the main beam.
Do you know if an OBD2(On Board Diagnostic tool) would find the issue?

I spoke to my local Fiat commercial "specialist" dealer today and they want £122 for stalk and £70 for diagnostic plus £70 per hour for labour all plus VAT???

SCARY!!!

Can anyone help please!!!

Thanks.

although my van is older i had the same problem and the stalk was diagnosed but it was actually the ignition switch that was the fault

So what happened......did you replace both?
How was the fault diagnosed?

Would appreciate your feedback and anybody else who can shed any light....no pun intended?

Thanks

Hi Charlie,

You are an absolute genius!!...I tried tilting the steering column, as you suggested, and hey presto......the lights came on!!!!

Thanks a million:D

I have the same problem on my 02 motorhome. There it is the plug which connects the harness to the stalk which was melted...

I would check this as a loose connector with some amps on it can lead to fire in some circumstances..
