On my 1.9TD motorhome the windscreen washers are no longer working. They were working about 3 weeks ago. Jets do not seem to be blocked. No water coming out though its full. I get no pump sound when I move the wiper arm. My mechanic said I should first check the fuses before looking to replace the pump. Is the fuse for this located in the wheel arch where other fuses seem to be and if so what type of fuse would it be.

Its on a 1998 LHD. Have checked the fuse. No problem there but I replaced it anyway. Thimk I'll have to take out the washer tank and the pump. Will I be able to get a replacement easily if this is the problem.

Same problem on my 1999 2.8 ducato motorhome last week. I tapped the pump a few times and it started to work but would only put the water a few inches up the screen. I took out the reservoir and pump (I had to remove the air cleaner housing first). The electrical connections to the pump were corroded - cleaned them. The filter pipe to the pump was lost in a mass of gunge - good clean under cold tap cleared it. Apparently the gunge can also block or damage the y-piece one way valve but mine was ok.

My 2.8 lwb high top maxi wipers packed in when on hols in France. After checking fuses had to get pump motor out to check it.
Like the above post the spade connectors had corroded. It was heavily corroded a clean up got it going. The pump motor is directly below & inline with the filler cap,so any spillage when filling the water bottle runs down & spills over the washer motor. I would imaging it could be a common problem.
The moral of the story is if you washers fail check the wire connectors to the motor(y)
