hi there folks ,,,wonder if u can help ,,my 2001 ducato 20 jtd ,was running fine till tonite ,,,went to start her and she cuts out dead after about ten seconds ,if i try to start her straight away she just turns over ,,but if i weight a couple of seconds she will fire back up ,till over and will take revs untill she cuts out again checked fuses realays n such ,,even tried to plug her in but cant find the diagnostic socket even tho its usualy under the dash ,,, but found if i undo the common rail plug ,,she will keeping runnin but will only rev up a little ,,just wonderin to get anew common rail sensor or if theres something else causing the problem ,,,,cheers help please lol
 
the van drove home with the common rail pressure sensor unplugged when a plug it bk in she cuts out within seconds :bang:
 
that was the plan for tomorrow mate ,,was just tryin to see if there was anything else that would cause the problem ,,,bloody thing lol ,,,plenty of fiat citroen or peugoets about shurely get a pressure sensor a hope n it solves the problem
 
cheers mate ,,but it wont tick over ,,,n will only start on easy start now ,a have a adapter plug coming for my solis tomorrow to plug her in ,, n gonna do a injector leak off test too
 
Careful with easy start it with the compression in diesels you can crush the main bearing, bend the conrod, break the rings etc. etc. voice of experience here :( if the injectors bad enough to stop her starting pulling the return hose ahould be enough to tell unless they're all bad of course.

scanned for faults tonight ,,,fuel pressure ,, number 4 injector leaking like a sive with return pipe off ,,have orderd replaement injector ,,so heres hoping
 
update ,,,fitted injector tonite ,,n hay pressto she fired up n ran tick over n revs ,,for about a minute then management light came on n she cut out n hasent started since ,,,did another leak off check all seams fine ,,, has fuel pressure at electric pump ,,but nothing now at the common rail not a thing

Read the DTCs again check wiring to the pressure regulator on the pump. You've probably knocked something loose. If injector 4 was pissing diesel it definitely needed to be changed anyway.

For starting the ecu sets the operation of the regulator according to the coolant temperature from an internal map. You should have a pulse width modulated signal about 180Hz on the regulator when you're trying to start.

Hi all,
I'm seeing a lot of talk on this forum about relays and fuses and my specific query is where can I locate a fuse for the fuel pump in my 94 Ducato diesel (engine: 8140.47) motorhome., I want to pluck it out when I'm leaving the MH, as a theft-proof measure. I've checked the fuse block in the glove compartment but there is none there for the fuel pump. Any help would be grately appreciated; thanks in advance.
