Dear All,

The Motorhome is fitted with additional reversing lights and the Backwatch reversing sensor, neither of which are working. It only passed it's MOT last week, when they were all working. I've checked all the fuses in the cab and they seem okay. As the back watch gets it power from the reversing light circuit I assume this will be the same for the the additional reversing lights. Any ideas what else I can check please?

Thanks

Have a look at this post.

You only say the additional reverse lights are't working. I assume the o/e ones are working correctly. If so, the reverse switch is ok. You will need to find where the extra lights are tapped in to, most likely at the o/e reverse lights or rear loom. There will probably be an aftermarket fuse and possibly relay as well. They may be supplied from your house battery, check for extra fuses here.

Hi,

Both the factory fitted and added reversing lights and back watch sonar are not working.

Regards

Hi. I would test the switch first off, not sure about the 2.8but on the 1.9 jtd it is located at the back right hand side of the gearbox almostat the bottom, if you look for a wire running down that area and follow it.

O.K once you have found it pull the plug off, if it has two wiresjust short them together (paper clip is easiest) turn on the ignition and youshould have reversing lights. If the plug only has one terminal run it to earthturn on ignition and see if you have reversing lights if so the switch is dead.

Just to give you a better idea of where it is located on the1.9 jtd the easiest way to get to it is to jack the front nearside up and slidunder just behind the front wheel and look up at the end of the gearbox forthe wire.

Changed the reversing light switch and problem solved. Bit of a pain to install. But thanks for the info on this site and pictures.

:D
