I have broken the mirror off my 05 Ducato camper van. Its an extra long arm electric type. Fiat want over €400 for a new one. I can buy a short arm manual one for £30 online delivered. My glass and motors etc are all still ok. The extension arms are still fine as well. The only part thats broken is the cast inner section.

Does anyone know if the mirror unit is interchangable betwen lengths? My guess looking at what I have is that it should be. The long arms are just an extension.

Secondly does anyone know if I buy he manual one can I just retro fit my motors back into the new mirror? Again looking at it I dno't see why Fiat would create 2 different inner cast plates to do te very same job but then again it is Fiat.

Why not just get the casting welded/brazed or drill it pin it and fibreglass it.
