Hi I'm fitting aftermarket fog lamps to an '08 ducato and I want to run a wire from the dash to the lights but I can't find a route(grommet). I don't want to drill the bulkhead if I can avoid it.Any suggestions.Thanks.

We usually run extras out through the existing loom seal above the accelerator. Easiest to remove RH headlamp etc, and lwr rt dash pocket fuse cover. Use a test light or sharp screw driver to piersc the gland, feed a draw wire through, solder to other wires and pull it back through. You will probably need to spray silicon, easy glide, or similar on the grommet. Use brazing wire if you can't get auto wire through.

On the 2.8 JTD Ducato (2006 at least) the wiring for fog lights is all there already. I wonder if the same is true for the X250? Does the instrument panel have the switch for fog lights in place already? If so, there is an excellent chance that some mods will get it working.

Good thought Peter, I've jumped in without reading the question properly. Fog wiring should be there, but if they need to run any other wires, it is not difficult.

Thanks for replys.
No wiring in place in the new ducato. The pcb in dash is not complete so you can't even put a switch there.Lights will have to be independently wired because body computer is not programmed for them.
Will check again for this grommet in pic.Had dash off but could see nothing. Will take the lamp off next time.

DFK, I've got an X250 in the shop tonight so took a couple of pics for you. Pics looking in to firewall from in front of van, view behind RH headlight.

Thanks.Hopefully will go at it this weekend.

Hi ARRK was trying to get the headlamp off so removed the top plastic ok but when I took the screw out of the lower plastic is was loose but would not come off. Didn't want to just force it and break some clips. Any tips on which way I should pull it.

We often have to put a small screwdriver in the top section of the panel to pop it out. Put some tape on the screwdriver so it doesn't mark the panel.

Thanks for that. 2 clips both at top center.

Yes you have to remove rh headlamp to gain access to wiring grommet I pushed a wire coat hanger through but there was quite some resistance so smeared a little grease and went through ok then taped my wire to the hanger and gently got them through so next job is to cut out holes for the lamps in the bumber and wire up the relay nearly there just to add a separate switch as dont want canbus problems!
