Put a pair of Winter tyres on the front of my van this morning.
Anyone thinking of doing this, bloody get on with it. Driving it in the snow is amazing.
I lost a fair few days work over the last 14 months due to the van being undrivable in snow. I can (just) afford to loose the work, but I cant afford to leave the van parked up/stranded down some iffy side street.
No worries now. I'm now confident to drive it in the worst snow conditions.

Can anyone tell me if a 15" wheel off a 2001 model will be the same as a 15" on a 2007 model.

I don`t know about the 15" wheels. BUT for god sake don`t buy 16" wheels form a 2010 Relay to fit a 2007 Ducato Maxi without seeing them.
I learned this the hard way. Bought wheels from ebay after speaking to the lad and being told that they would fit a Fiat. Presumed that all the front hubs for 16" wheels would be the same !!!!
Got them home, never unwrapped them, and gave them to the tyre fitters to fit snow tyres when they got them into stock. Sent the wife to collect when ready. Opened the boot of the car and WHOO, totally different wheel.
I then found out that the wheels on the X250 only fit them and that the earlier one`s don`t. Seemingly 2002 to 2006 look the same but don`t fit.
Ended up paying a fortune for one scabby wheel, with a worn tyre, to enable me to get 2 wheels with winter tyres. The other one was the spare.

Same story. Fed up losing money because stuck in snow last 2 years.

Thanks for the info.
I take it the '2007 Ducato Maxi' is the old shape X2/44 Produced from 2002 to 2006 (although may not have been registered until 2007). Not the latest shape X2/50 Produced from 2006?

(I am not surprised to hear you had to pay a lot for a secondhand X2/50 wheel. They are in demand as they are no longer supplied as standard equipment.)

What, no wheels??? Is this a cost cutting idea from Fiat. What is the alternative, something square?

Problem with having only two winter Tyres is if you brake anywhere off a straightline the arse of the van will want to pass you out makes for great fun in the shopping center car park but not very safe. Try to pick up a pair of part worn for the back.

Admittedly not on a ducato, but I only use two winter tyres, and never had any problems like that.

Mind you, I don't drive it like it's a summers day if I'm on twelve inches of snow over a sheet of ice.
