Hi all.
Just picked up a 2008 3L LWB HiTop Ducato an excellent drive but I have an annoying intermittent fleeting alarm coming up on the dashboard and its from the rear doors usually when breaking sometimes when cornering and its driving me insane. I've tried to adjust the doors but cannot locate the switch.
My question is where is the switch situated and how to adjust please.
Thanks in advance

Hi
I did look in the WSM for the location of the switch/es but found nothing relating to rear door switches other than the earths for the rear doors ???
It is good that you found the problem & fixed it but the idea of the forum is when you have retified your problem is then to put what or how you fixed it & any other related info so others can see your how-to if they come across the same problem.
Cheers :worship:

My apologies Free Spirit I didn't think anyone had an interest or input on my problem but that aside I have not actually fixed it as the switch or sensor on or at the rear door has not yet been found and is still intermitant. I have however found the sliding door switch which is very obvious and that I presume can be adjusted via the striker on the door post to pull the door in further.
With regard to the WSM I do not have a copy yet. I am still trying to locate one. Would like to obtain a copy as soon as possible. They are available on the Fiat website but to purchase one you need a VAT number and a repair business and although having spent all my working life as an engineer they appear not consider that as being acceptable so am still looking.
Thanks for your input I will keep you informed.

Forgot to mention that there is definitely some form of switch / sensor on the rear door as I have proved it by opening and closing the rear door, the alarm appears and disappears on the display. The problem being that the sliding side door and the rear doors come up on the display as rear door open.

Can't give you a definitive answer but a suggestion as to the possible location:

The boot light switch/hatch open sensor on my car is mounted inside the hatch casing and is operated by the latching mechanism. (impossible to see so difficult to work on; how can this be an improvement on the plunger type:mad:)

The door switch is built in to the lock solenoid assembly. Not very likely that it is faulty, more likely doors need adjusting. Van bodies, esp. hitops, move / flex an unbelievable amount. If they didn't the panels would tear apart at the seams over time. The rear doors form a major part of the body strength, therefore the doors should close firmly. If there is visible movement, or squeaking in the rear doors when driving, they need adjusting. Secure the inner door (LH) first, when that is adjusted, then try the RH. If the doors are already secure, then check for adjustment in the lock mechanism.

Arkk, Crossingkeeper.

Many thanks for your input and the pdf extract from the wsm.

Will investigate the adjustment and the door lock mechanism and in due course will keep all informed. Must also get a wsm for my own use.

Thanks to you all
