Hi All.. Just need some help if anyone knows the answer. I have a 2000 model ducato 2.0 petrol. Unforunately been causing me some trouble recently just cutting out and not restarting unless jump started. Think this is down to battery terminal problems as battery testing ok. However on looking over the vehicle, i have found a vac pipe disconnected and can't see where it goes. From the inlet manifold I have 2 vac pipes. One on the right goes to a vac unit which appears to be on the fuel rail toward thye gearbox side of the engine. The left one is just hanging and the pipe is split, which usually means its fallen off somewhere, but I can't find anywhere for it to go. Any help where to look would be great.

I remember that my 2 litre petrol Talbot had a distributor; but can't now remember if it had a vacuum advance unit on the distributor.

Is the split pipe about 1/8" nternal diameter? If so this may be where it's dropped off & would explain the poor running.

Thanks for the reply. I already looked at the distributor, but no vacuum advance on there, but it is that type of pipe.

Sorry, slightly misled people. There is no distributor, just coil pack on the end wher the distributo would be. I am working on the aasumption the pipe should go to the MAP sensor, however I cannot find where it is located. Could anyone point me in the right location for this.
