Hello,hoping someone can tell me what these parts are,,i live in manchester and my mums van has broken down in wales,,its ducato 05 plate diesel van.

what happened was she started it up,there was a slight noise and the next mim there was loads of oil under that van,she only seen it cause she carried on reversing and seen it.

in all the oil there was 2 of these metal parts and look the same,but maybe in half,,they are about 2 inches,half moon,,nothing piston size,as the van still starts..

Thanks for looking guys,,it has me baffled also,,the van is going into a local garage today i believe,, so i will soon find out.

if i was there i would of known exactly where it come from grr

I was thinking driveshaft / CV type parts , but they look VERY clean..,

It didnt go in the garage yesterday,it should be going in today so hopefully find out tomorrow.

she did take the parts in to show him,and he said looks something like diesel pump part or power steering.I guess will find out soon

its been in the garage,and my mum said the mechanic has come back with,,the rear diesel pump valve,,part is there and being fitted,,so must of been diesel on the floor not oil,,me mums no idea,part was £70 reconditioned.

He is unsure it'll still work when its fitted,im hoping as me mum owns a carpet company and im waiting for some to be delivered by her husband before xmas.so fingers crossed,there is not ecu resetting or problems after the pumps been refitted.

sounds promising..,
as you say modern fuel pumps can be ECU reliant.. bad news..!!

Hi,,the mechanic fitted the part but it didnt work and they has to buy a new valve,,(the first was a recon).That was weds last week and the van is up and running again now,,so fingers crossed it will be ok
