Its a camper, burstner 747 auto, and its a 2002 but the facelift, so is newer 2002 .. ?

It was in storage for a year, some thing went wrong with the immobilizer when a new battery was put on which we have had fixed by an auto electrician, he removed the codes from the ecu so that the immobiliser isn't needed, starts fine now.

We attempted to bring it home, but it was stuck in park, the park over ride under the gear selector worked, but now it is stuck in 3rd when in drive.. It doesn't get stuck in 3rd, its just always in 3rd.

Does anyone know if this is part of the limp mode ? if not, what else could it be ?

We have bought a cable for reading the ecu errors as it now has the mil light on constantly we have cleared the codes, and these come up again instantly.

P0235 - Supercharging pressure Signal low Fatal Light ON
P0380 - Board relay, thermostarter or preheat. ECU. No signal Stored
U1600 - Immobilizer: key faulty Signal high Fatal Light ON

I assume U1600 is because the immobilizer is gone, this one does go when the errors are cleared till you re-insert the key.

There isn't much online about ducatos (have been searching all day) but have read (about other fiats) it can be the MAP sensor causing the P0235, where is the MAP sensor on Ducatos ? can't find a location for it online or the e-learn manual.

And what could cause the P0380 ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

Hi
Stated in the owners Manual - Page 116
Flashing light = automatic gearbox failure.
Warning light flashing at starting or when travelling indicates a fault in the automatic gearbox.
The automatic control system starts an “emergency programme”, Engaging the 3rd gear.
Switching the engine off and then on again, the self-test system could exclude the fault and therefore turn off the warning light. The failure is however stored and the automatic gearbox shall be checked at a Fiat Dealership.

**Also -
This was copied into a text file for my future reference, I think from a post here on the FF so thanks to whoever it was as they had a similar problem to yours & found a solution (at least on their vehicle) & is as follows -

"We have a 2004 N+B Arto ducato 2.8 jtd with the fiat four speed automatic gearbox. Excellent, but lately we have an intermittent fault. Sometimes on engine startup the red light on the instrument panel (looks like a car with the bonnet up) does not go out. Manual says this is transmission oil too hot! Hmm. Anyway, when this happens you can only get the van into 'emergency' third gear and reverse, and then after a lot of chunking. If however you switch off and re-start sometimes it WILL go out and you can engage gears normally for the rest of the journey. My feeling is this must be one of the sensors rather than a serious gearbox fault. I can take it back to B****hills but would like to eliminate it being something obvious. Advice from this most excellent forum would be much appreciated.

Hello , I have now cured the problem with the Fiat Auto Gearbox dash warning light. I found the problem to be a bad connection in the plug & socket on the wiring loom that feeds the selector unit, this is situated on the top of the gearbox"

I also found this in a ZF training manual which I think applies to the transmission fitted to your Ducato a - ZF4HP20
Depending on the type of fault, the ECU chooses the following downgraded modes from amongst three types:
• 3rd hydraulic (4th if activated whilst driving),
• maintain gear engaged (until the ignition is switched off then 3rd hydraulic engaged), which follows what the owners manual has stated. Hope your problem doesn't relate back to the disabling of the immobilizer!

Hope these are of help.
Cheers

99.99% of people doing ecu work don't actually create the files themselves, and a lot of them are flashing random stuff from russia/china and the internet into people cars.

He's made a balls of programming your ecu possibly made a balls of your wiring maybe even flashed your ecu with the software from a manual gearbox ducato.

I assume he has a backup get him to put it back in and the the immobiliser repaired by someone who knows what they're doing.
