Has anyone had experience of replacing the aircon evaporator behind the heater?
How much of the dash do I have to remove to remove the heater?

Our 2003 2.8 JTD had the evaporator or rather the complete heater/evaporator assembly replaced under warranty when it was only 3 months old. They said they had to remove the complete dash assembly to replace it. This was due to corrosion on all metal parts including the thermostatic valve on the evaporator, which stopped it from working, how this occured has never been explained? But it was replaced as I said under warranty & has worked faultlessly since.
Suggest you mark all disconnected electrical connections with matching marks as they had problems on reinstallation with more than one connector matching others & there are lot of loose unused connectors.
