Can anyone help? I have a 1996 fiat ducato 19D with gearbox problems, every mechanic told me that I will have to replace it but the problem is that here in Malta only about 10 ducato of the same model where sold. Does anyone know what is the gearbox number or model and if there is any other gearbox from a fiat or anything that will fit? :bang:

I had no luck with that vin on eper it looks like the 1.9 td box would fit 5th gear appears to be the only difference I can see. The 2.5 non tubo while a totally different box looks like it would bolt up and the driveshafts should be the same but you may end up cutting or welding the input shaft and mountings not sure.

If you can find a 2.5 box in malta bring along your 1.9 and take some measurements.

Germany might be your best bet for a replacement

ePER shows the gearbox for your VIN as part number 95667604 (No Longer Available)

Thats a different kettle of fish - your ducato must be the 90-94 model then

Build date for the VIN is 11th February 1994.
