Hi.
Further to my starting problems thread, my van would start well only if I touched a jumplead across battery +ve and glow plugs.

I took out the battery, and found a large and a small fuse in holders, and thought I would try to clean up connections first.
When I put the fuses back in, the battery re-connected, I now find the glow plug starting light does not come on, the key code light stays on, and the van will not fire at all.
I have disconnected the battery in the past with no problems on reconnection.
The big problem is that I don't have any of the special keys, only a black one.

Can anyone advise me on the implications ,is this likely to be a 'key' issue, whet the master key does, and what I can do in this situation.

Any advice will be greatfully received.

Paul

Hi.
Everything is rosy this morning.
Obviously all the poking about and cleaning I have done has cleared the original fault of the glow plugs not heating.
The van started straight away even covered in snow.

I will take wise advice and get a key cut
