I have a Ducato motorhome 1999 2.8 idtd, I am confused, I want to perhaps tune her up, buy a service kit etc, but am confused as to what engine it is, commonrail etc etc, does not have "J", thanks Colin

Its a mechanical pump direct injected engine, should be 122hp so not bad anyway. If you want to up the horses you can have the turbo actuator and pump adjusted at your own risk.

How would you adjust the turbo actuator and pump ? What is the risk ?

turbo actuator is adjusted like a trackrod end
pump adjustment is by screws

I wouldn't be bothered with either if you don't have the gear to measure what you're doing. The 8 valve head will limit the max power you can get out of it also.

Risk is increased boost wears out your turbo faster, increased torque and temerature will wear out your engine parts quicker. Of course you can increase power just a little without risk but that defeats the purpose.
