I put my 54 plate Ducato 2.8 camper into reverse and lost all other gears. The local garage tell me that there are two cables leading to the gearbox and one was twisted over the other. I've had the vehicle from new and had no problems other than silver paint peeling off the roof (rectified at Fiats expense but now starting on the bonnet and drivers door). I assume therefore that it was built like this. With 28k on the clock this is rather disappointing particlarly as my previous one had to have the gearbox stripped with a 3rd gear issue. Anyone else had this problem?

I saw a 2008 ducato last year that was selling for 8000 euro with very low miles. It had never been primed at the factory and about 1/3 of the paint had peeled off in large sheets never saw anything like it!!! Insurance wouldn't pay out as it was faulty prior to being insured and fiat wanted to paint it but it would never be satisfactory finish.
