As per title, it seems I've fallen victim to the dreaded vacuum pump drive wear
. The camshaft end of the drive is chewed out so my two options are
1. To get it welded back up and milled out.
2. Swap the engine for something that will pull the skin off a rice pudding.
I've done a forum search on engine swaps but there seems to be very little info. I want to avoid a repeat of the problem so putting another Fiat engine in doesn't seem like a good idea.
Does anybody know which (if any) Peugeot TD engines will slot in and mate up to the 5 speed Ducato/Express gearbox? I'm guessing I'll need to avoid anything too modern to keep away from ECUs and immobiliser/key shenanigans.
Any help much appreciated because our little camper is currently grounded.
