Is there an access plate in the cab to get to the tank sender, and if so, where is it? I have looked underneath and can't see anything obvious. My cab is 'motorhome' and all carpeted etc. in thick luxury:) so a good starting point to look would be good.

Oh it's a 2006 2.8 and actually a Peugeot Boxer but ..........hey;)

Thanks in advance.

Sender unit is between the 2 seats. Why do you need to get to it, what is the problem. Or you will need a good carpet fitter.:D

Thanks guys:(y) I have an Eberspacher which takes it's feed from approximately near the sender unit ..... I think. I need to access that. Carpet not too much of a problem: just didn't want to be scrabbling around with it and the other 'soft' furnishings:eek: ... excellent quick response here anyway :worship::)

On my RHD model, there is an access plate immediately in front of and to the right (offside) just a bit of the passenger seat. When removed, you will find another access plate below and then the sender assembly below that, where I have my Eberspaecher heater fuel takeoff.

Thanks Peter,

I had a look at your website too: very interesting.

Going a bit off the original topic now but, just out of interest, in Australia, do you pay 'road fuel' tax on the diesel from the service station, or, like New Zealand do you get it tax free, and then pay a 'mileage' charge ( I can't spell killometerage :) )

In Britain we pay the tax at the pump and I am thinking of fitting a separate fuel tank for the Eber, so I can use 'kerosene / heating oil' from my home tank, which is what lead to the 'sender location' question.

As far as I am aware, it is a fuel tax - full stop. The heating fuel oil market is practically non-existent here. Primary producers (and others?) get tax rebates etc. for their on-farm diesel use.

So here there no advantage at all in fitting separate tanks. But why bother? The fuel usage by the Eberspaecher is so low that it surely is not a cost issue? And you run into the common problem that caravanners face: old fuel in the tank that grows stuff and blocks the filters - lots of this in warmer climes!(n)

Theres enough room to reach over the top from underneath you should be able to feel how they've spliced it in if you're lucky they've used old style connectors those quickfit things are a bitch to open without the correct pliers expecially in a tight space. Probably easier to drop the tank than refit tea carpet. Just make sure its not full unless you happen to be the hulk :p

I ended up grinding and filing a poundstore pliers to remove them.
