2006 Ducato fault codes P1304 P0683

I have a 2006 Ducato in with the MIL lamp on. (The water in fuel is also lit but I'm pretty sure its a faulty sensor as my code reader tells me it is faulty and I can fool it by putting a resistor across a couple of the WIF sensor wires and the WIF light goes out).

The engine is a 2.2 Transit engine by the looks and is a 2.2 JTD 4HV.

The fault codes I have are:

P1304 - Pilot Injector Learn
P0683 - Pre-Heater Module feedback.

I can't see anything wrong with the wiring from the glow plug relay to the ecu so maybe a faulty relay. The P1304 though has me stumped. The van has about 45000 miles on it. The van seems to run perfect, no hesitation, plenty of power. Maybe a slight hicup now and again on tickover which considering the fault code possibly points to an injector?

Has anyone got any ideas / had anything similar? All suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Tim.

From the Ducato DTC list I have, manufacturer code P1304 = Speed Limitation.

I've no idea what that relates to, but may give you something else to search on.

Dave.

The speed limitation is what it says on my Ducato list but I have had 2 scanners on it that have the correct engine code and year in their list to match up to the vehicle and engine and both say the Pilot thing. Who knows.

you need to carry out a software update but even before you can do this you must complete the pilot learn which must in turn be done on examiner.

P0683 in my opinion means something else again related to above.
