Hi, it's my first post on here & I'm already on the scrounge for information I'm going to replace the gearbox oil in my 2006 2.8JTD based motorhome. I believe that there is no filler/level plug & that the oil is normally put in through the reversing light switch hole. Well, I've got a problem in that Hymer did'nt consider access to the reversing light switch when building thier vans However I can see & get to the speedo sensor at the rear of the GB.
Can I get the oil into the gearbox from the speedo sensor hole ? & if so does the sensor simply come out once its securing bolt's been removed. I've got a phobia about removing parts I know nothing about
2nd question, what's the concensus on how much oil to put back in ? I've read anywhere between 2.5 & 2.7 litres.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
Regards Dave.
