Just got mine tested for this 'season'. (Elddis Autoking 630CK -'87 2.5D)
Failed again on the back brakes. With the Alko back axle there is no 'overide' function on the rear brake valve compensator mechanism. This puts a strain on the bracket mounted on the O/S trailing arm. I welded it back on last year (noting that it had been welded before) and improved the existing arrangement with a spring loaded system. I've adjusted it better this year so that it collapses as the suspension 'bottoms' (ie. over speed bumps) the tension of the spring then returns the operating bars to a straight position that keeps the rod that operates the compensating valve in its optimal upper position.
On fitting a stronger spring she passed okay on retest.
I can never detect any difference in height when the vehicle is laden or unladen with the Alko suspension.
Does anyone else have an Autoking? (There may be a similar system in place on the KonTiki)
cheers

PS:
DON'T FORGET TO GREASE YOUR ALKO AXLES!! (2 nipples either side)
