Hello and thanks for reading this post . I have problem with my jtd 1.9 2002 . Van won't start untill i use cold start spray to inlet collector . Engine runs very stable on idle an ther is no smoke at all. On the road while driving there is no power ! feels like you drive with 5 tons on the back :bang:. Pressing accelerate pedal on full with half cluth and car is jumping . Cluth was replace it 3 monts ago so it can't be this for sure . Ive used a friend's code reader and shows 001 voltage supply intermittent . Also battery was changed but not sure if they have put it rite one . Can battery cause problem ? I'm really goin mad about it . Also glow sparks was changed aswell. Sorry for poor english . Please help

Exhaust gate valve stuck shut ? Turbo not cutting in ? That was the problem I had with similar results to yours.

Thank you for reply . Where is this exhaust gate ? How to i check if turbo working fine . Maybe airflow meter is bad ?

Sorry, I did not do the work myself but someone else on the forum should be able to tell you where the components are. Anyone ??

Hi there,
Be very carefull with using easy start because if you use it for a constant time the engine will get dependant on it to start, as it will dry the bores n rings out and you will suffer low or none compression n it will not start witout it.

(its great stuff for a breakdown but leathel to use as a daily remedy).`

If it does get dependant on it to start its going to be an engine rebuild to cure , best to squirt a little oil into the bores to seal the gaps if you can the try that.
It could just be a case of poor compression with a ring stuck in , worth a try before you dry the bores out totally, also if it is a stuck ring it will fil the gap n start from cold, it will smoke a little till the oil clears the system , but try and use a old fashoned squirty oil can and about 2 squirts per bore don`t go mad n fill them up.

As for the turbo, I would say to remove it from the manifold on the engine would be the best way to examine it for blockages and waste gate function/ damage etc, ( make sure the pipes are all on it first before removing ie the small actuater pipe n see if the rod moves the valve on the turbo ), I assume your exaust system is all good and not damaged / bent and clear right through it not blocked ?.

Hope that helps , but somebody else might have another idea for you to try as well ?

Good luck

Hello Again and thank you for reply . Now, turbo was checked and its ok .we check exhaust line and its fine too. What i forgot to mention is that engine was rebuilt before this hapened . rocker arms was changed . All this startet after somebody put engine back together . on the first start up engine light go on . Than we connect it to code reader and shows voltage supply intermitent . Car start to suffer very poor power . 2 days ago we decide it to check cam belt position and looks like was no correctly done :bang: so my mechanic said !! then he put it back again rite way ( so he said ) Now is strange as the car has a power like before but only on gear 3/4/5 . 1 and 2 is so laggy. When i drive at speed 30 / 40 miles/h car sart to boost ! RPM is then arround 3000. Looks like when i drive fast car had normal power i duno ......:bang: Maybe i should change my mechanic ? Maybe he set cambelt incorectly again !!. How do i trace this fault code " voltage supply intermitent " What else he could done wrong with my car ? Car was perfect before . Rocker arms gone cuz multi rib belt was snapped and went in to cam belt cover and cuse cam belt jump few teeths and damage 4 rocker arms . Now everything changed , engine works really nice on iddle and no power ,dificult to start , light on ......:mad::mad: car done 90000 miles with full history . new cluth . Thank you very much guys for reading this post

Regards . Paul
