ducato injection system failure light on

hi my injection system failure light has come on and the speedo has stopped working they went wrong at the same time the van is still working .
i think it may be the vehicle speed sensor but the light is on even if the van is not moving the garege has put it on a diagnostic at £45 and on monday they want to find a loose wire for 2hrs at £185 and will ring me if they can not find it so it could cost much more so i need help thankyou

how do they known it will take 2 hours to find broken wire

what did they say was actually wrong after you had the diagnostic check done?

good pount i am concerned they can charge £185 say they can not find it and ask for more time and and more money. i will let you know but i am not at all happy

There's a fuse under the hood ,number 17 i think, that provides power to the speedo and a few other things too
.When mine blew it turned out to be the oil vapor heater that had shorted! The very competent french iveco dealership mechanic that found the problem just disconnected it and replaced the fuse as he said that it was not essential if i wasn't using the vehicle in very low temperatures.
