Urgent Help RE: Bleeding

Hello,

With ambulancetomongolia.com in full swing we need to learn how to bleed the 2.8 diesel engine. So how does one go about bleeding the system in case we run out of fuel or need to change the fuel filter?

it is a 1999 ducato by the way

Help would be much appreciated in dumbed down terms! We leave tomorrow.

Hi, all i can find in the Russek manual is to bleed/prime the diesel system
, after for example replacing the fuel filter, turn motor over on starter for ten seconds, wait 5 secs, then repeat process untill engine starts. This is fairly normal for most diesel engines, they kind of bleed and prime themselves.

Anyway good luck on your expedition, keep us updated here if possible. My Mom went on a Yurt camping holiday in Mongolia when she was seventy a couple of years ago, really enjoyed it. BTW think there are many Russian 2-stroke motor bikes there, known as IZH Jupiter over here, resemble the Suzuki gt500 of the seventies.
