Fitting a tow bar to a '96 SWB Ducato

Hello anyone, I am thinking of fitting a used tow bar to my '96 SWB Ducato (no destructions included) but I'm not quite sure which bolt holes to use. I believe I remove the two back bolts (one on each leaf spring) and fix the main tow bar cross member to these holes (is this so?) but do the extended sections that fix to the cross member fix in the place of the forward bolts on the leaf springs or in the other vacant holes in near proximity to them? Hope this makes some kind of sense! Just as side issue, any (sensible) ideas for freeing the old bolts on the leaf springs (should I actually have to). Ho and finally, for now, is it necessary to remove the towing eye? Many thanks.
